Granny Delivers Old Fashioned Christmas — Florida Bakery Expands Gift Basket Service

Gifts from Granny

Amelia Island, FL - With all the challenges the modern family faces in planning a traditional Christmas celebration including distance from relatives and lack of time, one family in Florida hopes to ease some of the burden with baskets of home baked goodies. Sweet Granny’s, a family run bakery in Fernandina Beach/Amelia Island, headed by a genuine granny has expanded their storefront to accept internet orders for holiday favorites, including their most popular gift baskets filled with cookies, brownies and hand-dipped chocolates.

“We don’t pretend that our baking is a cure for all that ails a family, but sharing some old fashioned Christmas baking along with memories can help strengthen family bonds over the holiday season,” explains Natalie Goolsby, Business Manager for Sweet Granny’s, “Things should never be so stressful that we forget to take time to enjoy good things and each other.”

Sweet Granny’s has been serving a local market for several years, using recipes from the family collection prepared with traditional methods. Granny Annie Mae Gomillion Sauls, consults and supervises daily operations at the storefront location and remains involved with the internet side of operations. With her attention, each gift basket is as good to look at as the goodies inside taste.

“Receiving a gift basket is as close to having Granny in your kitchen as you can get,” says Goolsby, “and that’s really such an important component of holiday baking. It’s not the same as buying mass produced bakery goods and is truly the next best thing to baking in your own kitchen.”

Annie Mae’s son, Rolen Sauls agrees, “We’ve built this business on Granny’s loving attention as much as on her recipes. I don’t think there’s a Christmas gift that can beat a gift basket of Granny’s Mississippi Mud Brownies.”

While Sweet Granny’s offers a full range of fresh baked goods and platters, their online specialty is made to order gift baskets. Orders are baked fresh and shipped out daily. Customers have a range of delivery choices from overnight delivery to standard post.

“Our goal is to encourage families to take a traditional approach to Christmas and if ordering a gift basket from a genuine Granny is as close as you can get to traditional baking in this modern world then at least we’ve helped preserve an essential tradition,” says Saul.
